Jacqueline Béjani
Jacqueline Béjani was born in Beirut, Lebanon. She attended College Protestant Français and after completing her French and Lebanese baccalaureats, she left for Paris where she attended the Académie Met de Penninghen and ENSAD Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs.
Béjani worked in design and advertising while pursuing an intensive practice in painting, drawing and ceramics. After moving to Luxembourg, she registered in the Académie Royale des Beaux Arts of Arlon where she attended classes in painting, drawing and multimedia art.
Béjani works through various mediums, including painting, installation and three dimensional work, and focuses on narrating her heritage and her region – Lebanon, Syria and Palestine; as well as the life of a multilingual, multicultural artist. In her work Béjani brings forward the richness and complexity of a diverse identity that stems from multiple roots.
