Ghassan Yousef Abulaban

Abulaban’s art is born from personal exploration of his subjects, entering into a reciprocal relationship, where compassion and desire towards his subject is as important as the effect and feelings they evoke in him. His paintings are sensational recalls of layered memories; they evolve organically from feelings and life's everyday glances. They are a dialogue between the surface and the hand, submit and control, and between giving and taking.

In his art, Abulaban seeks revelation; the unique intuitive meaning of color and form emerging as a result of frustration and struggle to achieve and realize.
